Jeremy Van Pelt, DC

Dr. Jeremy Van Pelt is the Doctor of Chiropractic at Lifespan Chiropractic, providing evidence-informed, neurologically focused care to individuals and families in Saginaw, Michigan—the community where he was born and raised. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in September 2025 after completing his undergraduate degree in Sports & Health Science.

Dr. Jeremy has pursued extensive post-graduate education, including more than 200 hours of advanced Applied Kinesiology training, equipping him to better assess the relationship between the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. He holds a Basic Certification in Chiropractic Biophysics, a rigorous and highly regarded credential focused on spinal structure and corrective care. He is currently advancing his clinical expertise through diplomate studies with the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology and certification training with Functional Medicine University, integrating functional and neurological principles into patient care while remaining within his chiropractic scope of practice.

His additional clinical training includes coursework through the Carrick Institute with emphasis on concussion and functional chiropractic neurology. Earlier in his career, Dr. Jeremy served his community in emergency services, completing five years with the Saginaw Township Fire Department and two years with the South Lyon Fire Department as a firefighter/EMT—experience that helped shape his disciplined and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Dr. Jeremy’s global education further informs his clinical work. He spent six months in India and Thailand earning a 500-hour yoga teacher certification and becoming a certified Thai Massage instructor, advanced soft-tissue skills that complement his chiropractic care. His professional focus centers on wellness care, chronic pain conditions, neurological optimization, and family care. Outside the clinic, he maintains a strong commitment to martial arts and fitness. Dr. Jeremy works closely with his wife, Jessica, who supports Lifespan Chiropractic in a remote administrative role.

Applied Kinesiology

A sophisticated, non-invasive diagnostic method employed at Lifespan Chiropractic to evaluate the body’s overall functional status.

The doctor utilizes manual muscle testing, a technique in which controlled and gentle pressure is applied to a targeted muscle group to assess the neuromuscular response. A robust and consistent muscle response generally reflects optimal balance and coordination in the associated system, whereas a diminished or variable response may indicate underlying imbalances—structural (such as joint misalignments or muscular asymmetries), chemical (including nutritional deficiencies or sensitivities), or emotional in nature.

This precise assessment enables the identification of subtle dysfunctions that may contribute to symptoms such as pain, reduced mobility, fatigue, or diminished wellbeing. Applied Kinesiology is fully integrated with other chiropractic techniques to deliver highly individualized care, supporting the restoration of proper alignment, optimal function, and the body’s innate capacity for self-healing.

Chiropractic Biophysics

An evidence-based and structured approach to chiropractic care offered at Lifespan Chiropractic, focused on evaluating and improving spinal alignment and posture. The doctor employs a comprehensive assessment, which may include postural analysis, X-ray evaluation (when clinically indicated), and biomechanical measurements to identify deviations from optimal spinal curves and alignment.

Treatment incorporates precise chiropractic adjustments, mirror-image corrective exercises, and specialized traction methods designed to gently restore the spine's natural curvatures and postural balance. This technique emphasizes structural rehabilitation of the spine to support improved joint function, neural integrity, and overall musculoskeletal stability.

CBP is safe, non-invasive, and integrated with other chiropractic methods to address conditions related to subluxations, misalignments, and joint dysfunctions—helping facilitate the body's natural ability to maintain proper alignment, enhance function, and promote long-term wellbeing.

Functional Neurology

Also known as Chiropractic Neurology, an advanced and evidence-based approach offered at Lifespan Chiropractic, focused on evaluating and optimizing the function of the brain and nervous system. The doctor employs detailed neurological assessments, including tests of balance, coordination, eye movements, sensory responses, and other non-invasive evaluations to identify areas of dysfunction or sub-optimal neural performance related to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

Treatment utilizes targeted, receptor-based therapies, such as specific chiropractic adjustments, sensory stimulation, balance exercises, and other non-invasive modalities to promote neuroplasticity (the brain's natural ability to adapt and form new connections). This helps restore improved neural integrity, coordination, and communication between the brain, nervous system, and body.

Functional Neurology is safe, non-invasive, and fully integrated with other chiropractic methods to address conditions involving subluxations, misalignments, joint dysfunctions, and related neurological imbalances—supporting enhanced function, reduced symptoms, and the body's innate capacity for healing and optimal performance.

Functional Nutrition

Sometimes referred to as functional medicine in broader contexts, a personalized and systems-oriented approach to nutrition offered at Lifespan Chiropractic, aimed at supporting optimal health by addressing underlying factors that influence wellness. The doctor employs comprehensive evaluations, which may include detailed health history reviews, discussion of symptoms, lifestyle factors, and—when appropriate—laboratory or functional testing considerations to identify potential nutritional imbalances or stressors related to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

Guidance focuses on individualized dietary recommendations, nutrient optimization through whole foods/targeted supplementation (when indicated)/lifestyle modifications to promote balance in areas such as inflammation, digestion, energy metabolism, and overall vitality. This approach emphasizes supporting the body's natural regulatory processes to enhance function, resilience, and wellbeing.

Functional Nutrition is safe, non-invasive, and fully integrated with other chiropractic methods to complement care for conditions involving subluxations, misalignments, joint dysfunctions, and related systemic factors, helping facilitate improved health outcomes through evidence-based nutritional support and the body's innate healing abilities.
